RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invite at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center in Boston and the Music City Invitational at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility in Nashville on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 9-10).
Fans can watch the David Hemery Valentine Invite on FloTrack and they can tune into the Music City Invitational on SEC Network+.
In Boston, the women will race on Friday and the men will compete on Saturday.
Sydney Little Light broke the school record in the mile at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, posting a time of 4:41.00, which ranks No. 1 in the ASUN.
Anouk van Gils broke the program record in the 3,000 meters at the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener in Boston, clocking a time of 9:17.97. Her time ranks No. 1 in the ASUN.
Ahmed Kadri broke the indoor Tunisian national record and the school record for the mile at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, posting a time of 4:00.99, which ranks No. 1 in the ASUN.
Taha Er Raouy (7:56.25),
Keeton Thornsberry (8:05.26),
Kristian Imroth (8:07.85), and
Jackson Siddall (8:08.74) will lace up for the Colonels in the 3,000 meters. All of them rank in the top 10 in the ASUN in the 3,000 meters and Er Raouy posted the best time in the conference so far this season.
Hakim Abouzouhir (13:55.67) and
Nikodem Dworczak (14:05.45) clocked the top two times in the ASUN for the 5,000 meters at the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener in Boston. Dworczak's time broke the indoor Polish national record.
The rest of the team will be competing at the Music City Invitational. On Friday, the Colonels will begin with the men's high jump at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Joshua Moore posted an indoor-best 2.10m at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational against several All-Americans. His mark ranks No. 1 in the ASUN.
Senda Garma will make her first appearance with the Colonels in the women's weight throw.
Joy Scott ranks No. 4 in the ASUN in the 200 meters, clocking a time of 24.81 at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational.
On Saturday, EKU will start with the women's 3,000 meters in Nashville at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Samuel Carter (14.76m) ranks No. 2 in the ASUN and
Javon Adams (13.71m) ranks No. 5 in the conference for the triple jump.
Jake Welch posted a 400-meter time of 48.42 at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic last week, which ranks No. 4 in the ASUN.
