COLUMBIA, S.C. – Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team dropped its final two games in South Carolina on Sunday, losing to North Florida, 4-1 and host South Carolina, 5-0.
Against the Ospreys, EKU's sole point came from the No. 1 spot as
Paityn Walker and
Sarah Mitchell snagged a victory in straight sets, 21-17, 21-16.
The pair followed up their win with a strong performance against SC's Hannah Mackenhausen and Riley Whitesides that entered the weekend with a 6-2 record as a duo including one win against ranked competition.
The Colonels pushed the Gamecocks to a third and deciding set, after claiming the first set in the No. 1 match, but ultimately fell, 18-21, 21-18, 15-9.

The Colonels now prepare for the Stacheville Beach Bash Mar. 22-23, where they will face all ASUN competition in North Alabama, Central Arkansas, and rival host Austin Peay.
