Colonels Set For Rematch With Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio – Eastern Kentucky University and Dayton will meet on the baseball field for the second time this season on Tuesday.
 
NOTE:  Today's game has been moved up to 3 p.m. and will be played on the UD campus at AES Ohio Stadium.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (11-28, 8-10 ASUN) is coming off a series loss to Lipscomb.  The Colonels were just an extra-inning loss away from winning the series.
 
-  Conner Davis is first in the ASUN with five triples and sixth with 14 doubles.  He leads the team with a .358 batting average and 29 runs scored.

-  EKU is third in the Atlantic Sun Conference with 77 doubles.  The Colonels have seven more than fourth place Florida Gulf Coast and four fewer than second place Stetson.
 
-  Max Williams is tied for 10th in the conference with 11 doubles.  He leads the team with 33 RBIs while hitting .333.
 
-  Freshman right-hander Elijah Underhill will make his third start of the season.  He is 1-2 this year with 10 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Dayton is 25-14 overall and 7-4 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.  The Flyers split a shortened series at Virginia Commonwealth over the weekend.
 
-  Second baseman David Mendez leads the team with a .362 batting average, to go along with 38 runs scored and 36 driven in.  First baseman Eddie Yamin IV leads the team in home runs (10), RBIs (39) and runs (43) while hitting .325.
 
-  Dayton is hitting .304 as a team this season and is averaging 8.5 runs per game.
 
-  Nick Wissman is the team's relief ace.  He has a team-best six saves while making a team-high 17 appearances.  The senior right-hander is 7-1 with a 2.51 ERA across 43 innings.

-  Connor Fennell is scheduled to start for Dayton.  The freshman right-hander has made nine appearances, including seven starts, and is 3-2 with a 4.63 ERA.  He has struck out 45 in 46 2/3 innings.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU is 19-13-1 all-time against Dayton.  The Colonels are 9-5 in games played in Dayton.  The Flyers have won three of the last five, including a 7-0 decision earlier this season in Richmond on March 20.
 
-  In the most recent meeting, Dayton pulled away with five runs in the fifth inning.  Miguel Larreal and Tait Nunnally had one hit each for the Colonels.  Mason Dobie was 1-for-4 with two RBIs for the Flyers.
