BRADENTON, Fla. – Freshman Eric Hash allowed one run in 6.0 innings and junior Charlie Yarbrough drove in a run but Paul Rice doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning to lead the Bradley Braves to a 3-2 victory over the Eastern Kentucky baseball team Monday afternoon at the IMG Sports Academy.
The Braves jumped in front in the bottom of the first when second baseman Ryan Curry singled home junior Pat Ryerson from second after a one-out double off Hash.
The Colonels (6-6) scratched across the tying run in the top of the fourth on an RBI groundout by Yarbrough.
In the top half of the 10th inning with the scored tied at one, the Colonels capitalized on of a pair of Bradley errors. Sophomore Lucas Waters reached on a Rice throwing error, promptly stole second base and came around to score on a Brad Jones error in centerfield.
The Braves would answer the unearned run in the bottom of the inning and on a Ryan Eigsti RBI double with one out.
John Lequia lead off with his second double of the year in the 12th, the Colonels then intentionally walked Ryan Curry to get to Rice who then doubled for the game-winning RBI.
The Colonels are back in action tomorrow against Fairfield University at 10:30 a.m.
