RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team completed a perfect OVC regular season Saturday with a 6-0 win over Austin Peay. This marked the Colonels’ (20-5, 9-0 OVC) first-ever OVC regular season title.

Eastern won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore Myriem Mhirit clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 singles. Senior Alexandra Sitnikova (No. 1) and sophomore Anouk Faure (No. 5) finished the regular season undefeated against league opponents.

The Colonels now have a week to prepare for the OVC tournament which will be held in Paducah, Ky. EKU will be the top seed and play in the semifinals next Saturday, April 18.
