Women’s Tennis Opens 2026 ASUN Championship on Thursday Morning

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team earned the No. 7 seed in the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship and will open play against No. 2 seed Lipscomb on Thursday morning at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

With wins over Bellarmine and Southern Indiana to open the month of April, EKU (10-14) secured its highest win total since the program's reinstatement in 2022 and its most victories in a season since 2018.
 
Senior Marilou Cote leads the Colonels with a 10-7 singles record, primarily competing on court No. 4. The Levis, Quebec, Canada, native has won five of her last six matches, earning victories over opponents from Lindenwood, Belmont, Bellarmine, Southern Indiana, and Middle Tennessee.
 
Fellow senior Masha Fedenko holds a 9-13 singles record while competing on court No. 2. The Dnipro, Ukraine, native has won two of her last three matches, including victories over Southern Indiana's Sofia Davidoff (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) and Middle Tennessee's Zora Koenig (7-5, 6-4).
 
Fedenko, Sasha Parkhomenko, Zhansaya Bakytzhan, Ceylin Ipek and Anastasiia Cherniakova were all named to the ASUN All-Academic Team for their performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Thursday's match marks EKU's second appearance in the ASUN Championship since 2023. The Colonels are seeking their first conference tournament win since capturing the Ohio Valley Conference Championship in 2018 and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Scouting Lipscomb
No. 2 seed Lipscomb (13-6) enters the ASUN Championship on a seven-match winning streak dating back to March 15 and is coming off a 4-0 win over EKU on April 10.
 
The Bisons are led by First Team All-ASUN selections Sofiia Paladi and Mariia Dolzhenko, who combined for 23 singles wins from the top two courts during the spring season.
