RICHMOND, Ky. – Exciting renovations are underway at Turkey Hughes Field on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. A state-of-the-art synthetic turf is being installed on the infield while a modern brick backstop with netting is being built behind home plate.
The renovations will revolutionize the way the EKU baseball program is able to develop its players. A synthetic turf infield will allow the players to practice in spite of bad weather, and far fewer games will be cancelled due to the improvement.
EKU head coach Jason Stein also expects the upgrade in facilities to have a favorable effect on recruiting.
Check back later for updated photos on the field’s progress.
