This is the 76th meeting between Eastern Kentucky (8-6, 5-0 OVC) and Tennessee Tech (6-8, 1-3 OVC). TTU leads the all-time series 55-20, and has won seven of the last nine in the series. Tech is 29-4 all-time against EKU in Cookeville.

On Thursday EKU shot 56.1 percent in a 79-67 road victory today at Jacksonville State. Newcomer Talisha Davis scored a season-high 29 points. Freshman Alex Jones finished with 23 points.

The win improved Eastern to 5-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play for the first time since the 2002-03 season. That year the Lady Colonels began the conference schedule with six straight wins.

Davis recorded her 1,000th collegiate point on a lay-up in the first half. The junior scored 859 points in two seasons at Lincoln Trail College before joining the Lady Colonel program.

Eastern set season-highs for points (79), field goals (32) and field goal percentage (56.1) against the Gamecocks. Jacksonville State is only the second team in the last nine games to score more than 60 points against the Lady Colonels. Eastern Kentucky has now out-rebounded 10 of its 14 opponents this season.

Tennessee Tech has lost three straight entering the game on Saturday against Eastern Kentucky, however the Golden Eagles have lost just once at home this season.

TTU opened conference play with a road win at Jacksonville State (68-59) in December. Since then Tech lost road games at Southeast Missouri and Eastern Illinois. On Thursday the Golden Eagles were defeated for the first time at home when Morehead State escaped Cookeville with a 71-63 victory.

Sophomore Tacarra Hayes recorded a triple-double against Morehead State, finishing with 15 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Freshmen sisters Kellie and Kylie Cook each scored 16 points. TTU led by six at halftime.

For the season Hayes leads the team with 15.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Kellie Cook is averaging 13.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Tennessee Tech has allowed its opponents to shoot 42.1 percent from the field and average 70.1 points per game.
