RICHMOND, Ky. – Freshman
Milena Poffo earned a hard fought third-set tie-breaker victory at No. 4 singles to help the Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team defeat visiting Duquesne, 4-3, Saturday evening in the Greg Adams Tennis Center. With the win, EKU improves to 7-4 overall.

Anouk Faure came away with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles. Poffo then fought off two match points in the deciding tie-breaker before claiming a 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (6) win over Judy Li. Poffo won the final four points in the breaker. Sophomore
Esmira Gheisary capped the comeback with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 6 singles.
Eastern Kentucky now has a week off before heading to Florida for three matches over spring break. EKU will next take on Stetson on March 7.
