MURRAY, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team dropped its second straight 4-3 decision Friday, this time to host Murray State.
EKU now stands at 8-9 overall and 1-2 in the OVC while the Racers improve to 5-10 and 1-1.
“We have got to play to our strengths against teams that are similar to us and that means finding a way to win four singles matches,” EKU head coach
Rob Oertel said.
Murray State won the doubles point and then won half of the singles matches to hold on for the win. Sophomore
Jessica Albuquerque (No. 1) highlighted the EKU effort by defeating Murray State’s top player, 6-4, 6-2.
Eastern Kentucky concludes its OVC road weekend tomorrow at Eastern Illinois.
