DeLAND, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team opened its Florida spring break trip with a 6-1 loss to Stetson Monday afternoon. The Colonels (7-5) are now 0-3 in road matches this season.
Freshman
Saioa Oscoz (No. 3) was the lone EKU player to notch a victory against the Hatters. Oscoz battled back to defeat Sierra Sullivan in a third set super tie-breaker, 4-6, 6-3, (10-5).
“Saioa played a heck of a super tie-breaker,” head coach
Rob Oertel said. “It was good to see her get a win in a tight match and this will give her something to build on for future matches.”
Eastern continues its Florida trip tomorrow, March 8 at Embry-Riddle.
