RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team cruised to a 6-1 victory over SIU Edwardsville Friday afternoon. With the win, the Colonels moved above the .500 mark to 10-9 overall.

Eastern won the top three singles matches in convincing straight set fashion. Senior Anouk Faure (No. 3) clinched the team victory with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over SIUE’s Laura Horning. The Cougars’ lone singles win came at the No. 4 spot where Rachel Webb edged freshman Saioa Oscoz, 6-4, 7-6.

SIUE (5-7) will be an official OVC opponent next season.

The Colonels conclude their home schedule tomorrow (April 2) against Jacksonville State. Match time is slated for 10 a.m.
