RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will travel to Marshall on Tuesday before hosting Missouri State at McBrayer Arena on Thursday.

Both games are scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m. ET.

EKU (3-5) dropped a pair of games to Florida A&M and Mississippi Valley State last weekend at the Southern Miss Thanksgiving Tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss. Senior Marie Carpenter scored a combined 43 points in the two losses and was named to the all-tournament team.

Fellow senior Pilar Walker – the Lady Colonels' starting point guard – did not play in Hattiesburg due to an injury. Freshman Michaela Hunter replaced Walker in the starting lineup and filled in admirably, notably dishing out six assists versus Florida A&M.

Sophomore Miranda Maples and freshman Nicole Bowers both grabbed 10 boards in the loss to Florida A&M on Friday. It was the first time two Lady Colonels recorded double-digit rebounds in the same game since Feb. 3, 2013.

EKU enters this week leading the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring defense (66.0 points-per-game).

Marshall enters Tuesday's matchup with a record of 2-3. The Thundering Herd had lost three straight before defeating Southern Illinois, 82-59, last Wednesday.

Leah Scott leads Marshall at 11.8 points-per-game.

EKU leads the all-time series with Marshall, 16-4; however, the Lady Colonels and the Thundering Herd have not met on the basketball court in more than 10 years.

Missouri State is currently 1-4. The Lady Bears, who face 2012-13 national runner-up Louisville on Tuesday, have lost three straight games.

Kenzie Williams paces the Missouri State offense, scoring 17.8 points-per-game.

The all-time series between EKU and Missouri State is knotted at 1-1. The Lady Bears defeated the Lady Colonels, 91-81, on Dec. 5, 2004.
