Colonels Sweep Austin Peay to Open OVC Action

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Preseason Ohio Valley Conference favorite Eastern Kentucky made an emphatic statement with a 7-0 win over Austin Peay Saturday morning in women’s tennis action. This was the conference opener for both teams.

The Colonels (8-5, 1-0 OVC) won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore Kristina Labeja (No. 2) and freshman Danielle Kinnen (No. 6) did not drop a game during their two sets.

“I thought our scores were solid today considering the opponent,” Eastern head coach Rob Oertel said.

Eastern Kentucky continues league action tomorrow, March 17 at Murray State.
