RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky’s baseball will host Austin Peay this weekend for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Turkey Hughes Field.

Due to the threat of rain on Saturday and Sunday, the two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday and will then try to play a single game at 2 p.m on Saturday.

EKU (14-24) has won eight of its last nine conference games and sits in sixth place with a 10-8 record.  The Governors (30-12) are in fourth place with an 11-6 league mark.

Eastern’s Brent Cobb and APSU’s Lee Ridenhour are scheduled to start the series opener on Friday.  Cobb is 4-5 with a 5.12 ERA.  Ridenhour enters the weekend with a 6-1 record and a 2.37 ERA.  The right-hander has struck out 61 batters in 68 and one-third innings.

Ben Gullo (RHP, 2-2, 3.80 ERA) and Casey Delgado (RHP, 6-2, 4.45 ERA) are scheduled to face each other in game two.  The series finale on Saturday will feature Shane Grimm (LHP, 4-4, 5.54 ERA) and APSU’s Zach Hall (LHP, 4-2, 6.56 ERA).

Junior catcher Sean Hagen leads Eastern with a .353 batting average.  He’s hit three home runs and has driven in 27 RBIs.  Senior right fielder Shaun Ball leads the team with eight home runs and 33 RBIs.

Craig Massoni does it all for Austin Peay.  He leads the team in hitting (.361), home runs (8) and RBIs (45).
