RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky’s baseball team will play its final home game of the 2013 season on Tuesday when Dayton visits Turkey Hughes Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Colonels enter the game with an 18-30 record.  The Flyers are 10-37-1 overall.

A pair of freshmen will start on the mound.  Eastern’s Eric Nerl enters the game with a 1-1 record and a 5.96 ERA.  Dayton’s Charlie Dant is 1-4 and sports a 5.28 ERA.  Dant has thrown more than twice as many innings this season than Nerl.  The EKU freshman will be making just his second start of the year.

Eastern Kentucky is coming off a 14-6 win at home against Jacksonville State on Sunday, a game in which the Colonels pounded out 18 hits.  EKU had gone nine straight games without a home run before hitting six in the final two games of the JSU series.
