RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will host Ohio Valley Conference East foes Tennessee Tech on Thursday and Tennessee State on Saturday at McBrayer Arena in the decisive, final weekend of the regular season.

Thursday's tip time is set for 5:30 p.m., while Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

EKU (15-10, 9-5 OVC) has already secured a spot in the OVC Tournament and is playing for seeding this weekend. The Lady Colonels could finish as the No. 2 – No. 5 seed.

If EKU wins both games this weekend and current OVC East leader Belmont (13-15, 10-5 OVC) loses at Jacksonville State on Saturday, the Lady Colonels will earn the No. 2 seed and a double-bye in the tournament.

If EKU defeats Tennessee Tech on Thursday, the Lady Colonels can finish no worse than the No. 3 seed.

Eastern does not control its own destiny in securing the tournament's No. 2 seed because of a 72-68 loss to Belmont on Monday at McBrayer. The Bruins scored 48 points in the second half to erase a 10-point halftime deficit and earn the crucial victory.

Sophomore Miranda Maples posted team highs in points (16) and rebounds (nine) in the loss, while sophomore Shelly Harper added 14 points. Senior Pilar Walker dished out nine assists and now leads the OVC in assist/turnover ratio (2.0).

Senior Marie Carpenter – who ranks second in the OVC in scoring (21.7 points-per-game) – will be playing in her 100th career game on Thursday.

Tennessee Tech (11-16, 8-6 OVC) edged Southeast Missouri, 65-63, on Monday in Cookeville. Diamond Henderson paces the Golden Eagles and ranks third in the OVC at 19.4 points-per-game.

EKU defeated TTU on the road, 74-70, on Feb. 17. It was the Lady Colonels' first win in Cookeville since 2003.

Tennessee State (10-17, 7-7 OVC) has lost three straight games and will face Morehead State on Thursday before travelling to Richmond for Saturday's tilt.

Chelsea Hudson leads the TSU offense with 15.6 points-per-game.

The Lady Tigers beat EKU, 78-63, on Jan. 27 in Nashville.

The OVC Tournament takes place Wednesday, March 5, through Saturday, March 8, in Nashville.
