RICHMOND, Ky. – Hannah Goolsby knocked down a pair of free throws with 0.4 seconds on the clock to lift visiting Tennessee Tech past the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team, 76-74, on Thursday evening at McBrayer Arena.

Goolsby's free throws were the culmination of a furious final half-minute of the game. EKU trailed by eight, 74-66, until freshman Michaela Hunter converted a layup with 23 seconds left in regulation. Freshman Mariah Massengill then stole Tech's ensuing inbounds pass and dished it off to senior Pilar Walker, who drained a three-pointer from the top of the key to make it a one possession game, 74-71, with 18 ticks remaining.

EKU fouled on the next inbounds play, but Tech's Cat Taylor missed both free throw attempts. Hunter was fouled on EKU's next possession and she sank both free throws to make it 74-73 with four seconds on the clock. Hunter then stole the TTU inbounds attempt under the basket, was fouled while shooting and hit one of two free throws to tie the game with two seconds left.

When the Golden Eagles inbounded the ball, however, senior Marie Carpenter was whistled for a foul on Goolsby, who sank both shots from the stripe to earn Tennessee Tech the dramatic victory.

Sophomore Miranda Maples led five Lady Colonels in double figures with 19 points. It is the second straight game Maples has led EKU in scoring and the first time since Feb. 25, 2012 that five EKU players have reached double figures in the same game.

Carpenter poured in 16 points in the loss to move to No. 2 on EKU's all-time single season scoring list (558 points). Walker contributed 14 points and five assists, while sophomore Shelly Harper scored 12 points and grabbed eight boards and Hunter came off the bench to finish with 10 points.

Diamond Henderson paced TTU with 21 points and seven assists. The Golden Eagles shot a sizzling 61.9 percent (26-of-42) from the field in the win.

Thursday's game was EKU's (15-12, 9-6 OVC) second consecutive opportunity to earn a first-round bye in next week's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The Lady Colonels will now have to secure that bye by defeating Tennessee State in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at McBrayer.
