RICHMOND, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will welcome in-state and Ohio Valley Conference rival Morehead State to McBrayer Arena on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

EKU leads the all-time series with Morehead State, 44-41, and has dominated the rivalry of late. The Lady Colonels have won four straight over the Eagles, including a 79-58 victory at Johnson Arena in Morehead earlier this season. Senior Marie Carpenter dropped 25 points in that win. EKU shot a season-best 56 percent from the floor.

EKU (12-8, 6-3 OVC) enters the weekend atop the OVC East standings. Morehead State (10-13, 4-6 OVC) is currently in last, but very much still in the thick of a balanced East Division.

Carpenter currently ranks second in the OVC in scoring at 21.9 points-per-game. The senior from Nashville scored 43 points in two games last weekend to move to No. 8 on EKU's all-time scoring list (1,428 points).

Sophomore Miranda Maples is also coming off a big weekend. Maples notched her first-career double-double in Saturday's win over Southeast Missouri, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Morehead State split last weekend, defeating Jacksonville State, 73-53, on Saturday before falling to Belmont, 70-67, on Monday.

Terrice Robinson paces the Eagle offense at 17.5 points-per-game.

Morehead State makes 7.6 three-pointers per game. EKU, meanwhile, ranks first in the conference and 10th in the country in three-point percentage defense (27 percent).

There will be an autograph session on the floor of McBrayer Arena following the game where Girl Scout cookies can be purchased. Local Girl Scouts will also be giving away cookies during the game.

Following Saturday's showdown, the Lady Colonels have Monday off before returning to action next weekend at Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech.
