EKU Downs Morehead State in Women's Tennis

Junior Amandine Faouzi was victorious in both doubles and singles.
 
RICHMOND, Ky. – In a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference women's tennis match, Eastern Kentucky University picked up a 5-2 win over rival Morehead State Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Colonels (11-7, 8-0 OVC) keep their spot atop the league standings.
 
EKU opened the match by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Seniors Saioa Oscoz and Carmen Rodriguez have now won four straight matches together at the No. 2 position.
 
In singles, the Colonels won four of the six contests, all in straight sets. Junior Melissa Gerritsen clinched the team victory with a 6-0, 6-4 decision at No. 3 singles.
 
Eastern concludes OVC play this weekend with home matches against Murray State and Austin Peay.
