RICHMOND, Ky. – For the first time in three years, the Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team came up on the wrong end of an OVC regular season match as visiting Murray State prevailed, 4-2.
The Colonels (11-8, 8-1 OVC) had won 30 consecutive regular season matches dating back to a 4-3 loss to Jacksonville State on April 2, 2011.
Murray State's (12-4, 7-0) Megan Blue clinched the victory for the Racers with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 triumph at No. 4 singles.
Juniors
Amandine Faouzi (No. 2) and
Marcela Jimenez (No. 6) were the only EKU players to pick up a win.
Eastern will look to get back in the win column tomorrow when the Colonels host Austin Peay.
