The Thoroughbreds (23-28, 14-15 OVC) drew first blood with Michael Hargrove's RBI single in the top of the first.  However, the Colonels (23-31, 11-18 OVC) answered in the bottom of the inning beginning with Bryan Soloman's triple that brought home Kyle Nowlin.  Sean Hagen followed with an RBI single to make it a 2-1 game.  Nowlin's RBI triple in the second extended the lead to 3-1.

Back-to-back, two-out solo home runs by Anthony Bayus and Kollin Dowdy in the top of the fifth allowed Murray State to tie the score.  Matt McGowan's two-out RBI double in the sixth put the visitors on top 4-3.  Dowdy's second home run, another two-out solo shot, extended the lead to two in the top of the seventh.
