RICHMOND, Ky. – Over the spring and summer (and now fall), we will be profiling members of the Eastern Kentucky soccer team. Next up: sophomore
Bailly Bounds.
Bailly, a nursing major from Las Vegas, Nevada, has survived killing a queen bee and a swarming of bees.
Bailly Bounds: My family has been chased by bees before.
EKUSports: Chased by bees?
BB: Yes, we were chased by a swarm of bees!
ES: How old were you?
BB: I was about seven years old.
ES:Â So, how did this happen?
BB: My aunt and I were driving home in the car, and all of a sudden we hit something. It was small and just on our windshield, but it ended up being a queen bee. As soon as we hit it all of these other bees followed us all the way home and were just swarming around our car.
ES: So what happened next? Did they just leave?
BB: Once we got home, we could not get out of the car so we instantly called my dad and then he called an exterminator. The exterminator had to spray around the car to kill every single bee before we could get out.
ES:Â Did it take long for the exterminator to kill all of the bees?
BB: It took him about twenty minutes to kill each bee, so we were then able to get out.
