EKU Takes On Lindsey Wilson and UK This Weekend

RICHMOND, Ky. –  The EKU women's tennis team continues its season with two dual matches this weekend. 
 
The Colonels (3-3) will host Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday at noon ET before traveling northbound on I-75 to take on the 20th ranked University of Kentucky on Sunday. Sunday's match against the Wildcats is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
EKU split last weekend, after picking up a convincing 7-0 win over Lincoln Memorial University on Friday and falling, 4-3, competitive match against Western Kentucky University on Saturday.
 
Freshman Viktorija Demcenkova extended her singles win streak to five matches last weekend, after dropping the first match of the season. Demcenkova topped 124th ranked Adreanna Chirstopoulou of WKU, 6-3, 6-2. Demcenkova was named Ohio Valley Conference Female Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Laura Argente and Margaux Lacroix also won in singles play against WKU on Friday.
 
Lindsey Wilson College (1-0) picked up a win over Bellarmine on Feb. 6 in its only match of the season thus far. Jessica King (18th) and Fiona Curty (31st) are currently ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
 
UK (5-1) has won its last five matches. Its lone loss came at the University of Michigan on Jan. 24. Aldila Sutjiadi is currently ranked 59th, while Mami Adachi is ranked 109th.
