CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – EKU sophomore Laura Argente defeated the 91st ranked player in the country with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Kayla Jones of UT Chattanooga on Saturday at the Champions Club.
 
Argente handily defeated Jones in straight sets on her way to the win. Argente, in her first season at EKU, is now 6-3 in singles play at the No.1 spot on the year.
 
Despite Argente's win, the Colonels fell in Saturday's other matches.
 
The Colonels (4-5) return to the Greg Adams Tennis Center next weekend for dual matches against Kennesaw State University and the University of Louisville.
 
EKU takes on Kennesaw State on Saturday, before facing U of L on Sunday. Saturday's match is scheduled for 10 a.m. with Sunday's match scheduled for 2 p.m.
