Game Notes

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State will meet this weekend for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference baseball series at Turkey Hughes Field in Richmond.  Friday is Greek Night at the ball park and FREE pizza will be given out to EKU students while supplies last.
 
The series opener will get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.  Game two is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday.  The series finale is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
EKU is 11-14 overall and 1-5 in OVC games.  Morehead State stands 16-9 this season and 5-4 against league teams. 
 
The series will feature two of the top three teams in the conference in team earned run average.  EKU is second with a 4.35 team ERA.  The Eagles are third with a 4.50 ERA. 
 
Eastern's pitching rotation will feature junior Eric Nerl on Friday, junior Alex Hamilton on Saturday and sophomore Hunter Dunn in game three on Sunday.  Nerl is 3-1 with a 2.50 ERA, fifth best in the OVC.
 
Senior outfielder Kyle Nowlin is third in the nation with 11 home runs.  Senior third baseman Mandy Alvarez leads the league with 42 hits and is eighth in the nation.
