JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – In its fifth consecutive win, the EKU women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Jacksonville State University on Friday at the JSU Tennis Courts.
 
The Colonels (10-8, 5-0 OVC) picked up early momentum winning the first two doubles matches to clinch the point and take a 1-0 lead over the Gamecocks.
 
"The girls are really playing together and it's fun to watch," Head Coach Rob Oertel said. "They support one another on and off the court."
 
EKU cruised to singles wins to solidify the victory, as Laura Argente, Corentine Bodin and Viktorija Demcenkova picked up wins.
 
Leading 4-1, Marina Marti and Raquel Montalvo added wins for the Colonels in the 6-1 victory.
 
EKU hosts Morehead State University on Tuesday in an OVC dual match at Tom Higgins Courts. Tuesday's match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
