CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –
Eastern Kentucky will look for its fourth straight Ohio Valley Conference series victory this weekend at third place Austin Peay.

Game one of the series is set for Friday at 7 p.m. ET.  Games two and three on Saturday and Sunday will get underway at 2 p.m. ET.

The Colonels (17-21, 7-8 OVC) won two out of three against Morehead State, Tennessee-Martin and Southern Illinois Edwardsville in their last three conference series.  The Governors (22-13, 12-6 OVC) sit in third place in the OVC standings.

EKU features two of the premier offensive weapons in the conference, and the nation.  Senior outfielder Kyle Nowlin is tied for first in the nation with 15 home runs and ranks 21st in the country with 33 walks this season.  Senior third baseman Mandy Alvarez is sixth in NCAA Division I baseball with 103 total bases.  He leads the OVC and is seventh in the nation with 63 hits.

Nowlin begins the series having reached base in 21 straight games.  Alvarez hit for the cycle on Wednesday, recording a single, a double, a triple and a home run.  First baseman Ben Fisher has Eastern Kentucky's longest current hitting streak at nine straight games.

Eastern's Friday night starter Eric Nerl is coming off his fourth quality start of the season.  Last weekend he held SIU Edwardsville to two hits and one earned run in six innings on the mound.

The Colonels are 13-1 this season when leading after six innings.
