RICHMOND, Ky. – Weather has already impacted Eastern Kentucky University's baseball series against Eastern Illinois University scheduled for this weekend at Turkey Hughes Field.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday's series finale is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Eastern Kentucky (17-25, 7-11 OVC) has won three of its last four Ohio Valley Conference series and is coming off a near upset of Tennessee. The Colonels tied the game in the eighth before the Vols scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
Cole Warrenfeltz finished with four hits.
Eastern Illinois (7-33, 2-16 OVC) lost two out of three to Belmont last weekend, including giving up 21 runs in the first game of the series.

Mandy Alvarez is seventh in the nation in hits (68), 10th in total bases (111) and 33rd in home runs (10). Fellow senior
Kyle Nowlin is third in the country with 15 home runs.
Alex Hamilton will start for the Colonels in game one of the series. He's coming off a solid performance at Austin Peay. He limited the Governors to four runs on four hits and struck out seven in six innings of work.
Caleb Johnson will make his second start of the season on Saturday. In his first start, the junior held Tennessee to one run on four hits in three innings on Tuesday.
