RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky won its third straight Ohio Valley Conference women's tennis match on Saturday, beating visiting Tennessee State, 6-1, at the Tom Higgins Tennis Courts.
 
The Colonels (9-9, 5-2 OVC) lost a combined three games at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles on their way to claiming the first point of the match.  Laura Argente and Raquel Montalvo teamed for a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.
 
Argente and Viktorija Demcenkova quickly earned straight set wins in singles to put EKU on top 3-0.  Argente won 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles.  Demcenkova won by the same scores at No. 2 singles.
 
Montalvo earned the match-clinching point at No. 6 singles, beating Phyllicia Hemphill 7-5 and 6-1.
 
Sagung Putri Dwinta and Kristina Lagoda picked up singles wins as well to close out the match.
 
The Colonels will close out OVC play next weekend at Austin Peay on Friday and Murray State on Saturday.
