Lacroix Collects Win As EKU Falls To Louisville, Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Margaux Lacroix collected a win over the University of Kentucky's Brianna Tulloch at No. 6 singles as the Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team dropped matches at the #47 University of Louisville and #20 Kentucky on Friday.
 
Louisville jumped out to a hot start, taking the doubles point. Kristina Lagoda took set one against the Cardinals, 4-6, at No. 2 singles, but fell in set two 6-3 and dropped the super tiebreaker 10-4.
 
Louisville won at No. 5, 4 and 6 singles, respectively, to clinch the match. They then took the top three singles matches to finish the contest, 7-0.
 
Alexandra Belle and Lisa Friess battled with the No. 42 doubles team in the country, owned by UK, Mami Adachi and Emily Fanning, but were edged, 6-3.
 
After taking the doubles point the Wildcats claimed No. 2 and 3 singles to reach match point.
 
Laura Argente faced #117 ranked Justina Mikulskyte, but fell short, 6-2, 6-3 as Kentucky took the match, 5-1.

Lacroix improved her dual match singles record to 3-2 on the year after defeating Tulloch, 8-6.
 
Eastern moves to 4-5 on the year while Louisville improves to 11-1 and Kentucky's record goes to 8-2.
 
The Colonels are back in action next weekend as they take on Samford University Saturday and the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Sunday in Birmingham, Alabama.
