RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team will chase the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title tomorrow as it takes on Murray State University at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
Both teams are undefeated in conference play.
The Racers come into the contest with a 14-6 mark on the year, while EKU holds a 13-8 record.
As a team, the Colonels have been dominate through league matches, winning all by a score of 5-2 or better. Individually, EKU boasts two players who are undefeated in league singles play in Kristina Lagoda and Alexandra Belle.
Laura Argente, Viktorija Demcenkova and Lisa Friess have each lost just one match during the conference slate.
"They all feel like there's a lot more to prove and to do, they're not satisfied and won't be until we get to the conference tournament and hopefully obtain the ultimate goal," Head Coach Rob Oertel stated. "But, first we have to stay focused on tomorrow and get the regular-season title first and foremost. That's by far the most important thing to take care of that task at hand. Murray is a much improved team and they are undefeated. We will give them much respect and hopefully the home court will pull through here in the final match for the girls."
Murray State comes in with one player that has not yet been beaten in the OVC – Amina Hadzic.
The match is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
