INSIDE THE SERIES

THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky has won five of its last seven to improve to 19-14 overall this season.

-  Freshman Jacob Ferris will start on the mound for EKU.  The right-hander is 3-2 this season with a 7.14 ERA.  He has 27 strikeouts in 29 innings of work.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Northern Kentucky is 8-22 this season.  
 
-  The Norse are coming off a series victory at home over Wright State.  NKU plays at No. 12 Louisville on Tuesday.
 
-  Griffin Doersching leads the team with six home runs and 22 RBIs, but is batting just .191 this season.
 
-  Will Haueter has a team-best .284 average and leads NKU with 18 runs scored.
