BATON ROUGE, La. – After starting the season 3-0 for the first time since 2001, Eastern Kentucky will take to the road to play at No. 11 Louisiana State this weekend.

Game one of the three-game series is scheduled for Friday at 8 p.m. ET at Alex Box Stadium. Game two will be Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.  The series finale is slated for Sunday at noon ET.

All three games will air live online on the SEC Network+.

THE COLONELS
-Â The Colonels began the season with three wins at Presbyterian College, beating the Blue Hose 10-9, 6-4 and 10-4.

-Â Sophomore shortstop
Logan Thomason hit a team-best .500 with three runs and three RBIs in the three-game series. His bases loaded walk forced in the tying run in the top of the ninth inning of game one against Presbyterian. The Colonels completed a comeback from five runs down in the ninth to win. Thomason led off the top of the eighth inning of a tied game two with a triple and then scored what proved to be the game-winning run.

Daniel Harris IV hit .455 with four runs and four RBIs in the season-opening series.

Nick Laster,
Jacob Abbott and
Nick Borek combined to pitch seven and one-third innings over the weekend and allowed only two hits.

Brennan Kelly (0-0) is scheduled to start the series opener on Friday for the Colonels. Right-hander
Jacob Ferris (0-0, 4.50 ERA) will start game two. Sunday's starter is scheduled to be junior left-hander
Jake Lewis (1-0, 2.25 ERA).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- LSU is 3-2 this season. The Tigers began the season by winning two of three at home against Indiana. LSU split a pair of midweek games, beating Southern 8-3 before losing at Nichols, 4-2. Â

- Zack Mathis leads the team with a .444 average to go along with four runs and four RBIs. Saul Garza his hitting .375 with two home runs and seven RBIs. Â

- Sophomore right-hander Cole Henry is scheduled to start game one for the Tigers. He's 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Henry pitched four shutout innings and allowed just three hits in his first start. Landon Marceaux (0-0, 6.23), a right-handed sophomore, will get the ball for game two. AJ Labas (0-1, 6.23), a right-handed sophomore, will start on Sunday.
