RICHMOND, Ky. – A number of Eastern Kentucky University baseball players are spending a portion of their summer playing in baseball leagues across the nation.

Right-handed pitchers
Louis Davenport III and
Dylan Ross are both members of the Seminole County Snappers in the Florida Collegiate league. Their season begins today (June 29).

Left-handed pitcher
Jake Lewis and right-handed pitcher
Darren Williams are both playing in North Carolina for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain League. Their summer season began on Friday (June 26). Lewis pitched one hitless inning in the season-opening win and struck out two.

Outfielder
Michael Brewer is in Indiana playing for the Snapping Turtles in the Collegiate Summer League at Grand Park. His season started on June 15.

Outfielder Kendall Ewell and infielder
Ryan Nelson are also playing in Indiana for teams in the Midwest Collegiate League. Their season begins on the Fourth of July.

Third baseman
Christian Lucio will play for the Dupage Shrimp in the Joliet Collegiate League in Illinois starting Wednesday (July 1). Right-handed pitcher
Jacob Ferris is toeing the rubber in Kentucky's Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League, which began play on June 15.

Shortstop
Logan Thomason and left-handed pitcher
John Farley are playing in Minnesota and North Dakota for teams in the Northwood's League. Thomason is a member of the St. Cloud Rox and will begin his season on Wednesday (July 1). Farley's Flickertails team started play on June 15. He has pitched in three games, allowing one earned run over five and two thirds innings.Â

The Colonels finished the shortened 2020 season with a 12-2 record, including a Friday night win at No. 11 LSU.
