Kendal Ewell had a strong opening weekend. The sophomore batted .500 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. He also had two walks and a stolen base.

Will Brian combined to pitch five and two-thirds innings over the weekend without allowing a run, giving up three hits and striking out 12.

- One day before the start of the 2022 season, Brian joined 65 others from across the nation on the watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award. He is one of only three players from the ASUN Conference on the watch list.

Max Williams hit a game-tying 2-run home run in the series finale against Mercer.

- Leontarakis will make his first start as a Colonel on Wednesday. He pitched two innings of scoreless relief in the season-opener at Mercer, striking out six while allowing two hits and no walks.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Kentucky State is 4-6 this season. The Thorobreds lost two of three at Savannah State over the weekend. KSU won the first game of the series 17-13.
