INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Colonels are 20-13-1 all-time against the Norse.  EKU has won four straight in the series dating back to May of 2018.

-  The last meeting between the two teams, on March 11, 2020, turned out to be the final game of the 2020 season as the COVID-19 pandemic shut down college sports a day later.  Eastern Kentucky beat NKU 9-5 in Highland Heights.  Charlie Ludwick went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run in that game.  Logan Thomason had a run and an RBI.

THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels moved to 13-8 on the season and began ASUN Conference play this past weekend by winning two of three at North Alabama.

-  Kendal Ewell hit .417 in the first three ASUN games.

-  Will Brian is first in the ASUN, and is second in the NCAA, with eight saves.

-  Will King is tied for fourth in the ASUN with 25 RBIs, tied for fifth with eight doubles, tied for fifth with five home runs and ninth in slugging (.600).  Thomason is tied for eighth with 14 walks.

-  The Colonels are second in the ASUN and 33rd in the nation in fielding percentage (.978).

-  Freshman left-hander Isaac Milburn will start on the mound for the Colonels.  He is 0-1 this season with a 6.23 ERA over 13 innings.  He has made three starts in his five appearances.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Northern Kentucky is 6-11 this season and 1-1 in the Horizon League.  NKU's first win of the season was a 7-6 victory at then seventh-ranked Mississippi State.

-  The Norse split a conference doubleheader at Illinois-Chicago on Sunday.

-  Michael Hall leads the team with a .389 batting average in limited action, having just 36 at bats.  Third baseman Manny Vorhees is hitting .343 with a .446 on-base percentage and a team-best 15 runs.  Right fielder Treyvin Moss has a team-high 19 RBIs to go along with a .311 average.

-  NKU is hitting .277 as a team, but the Norse pitching staff has allowed opponents to bat .310 on the season.  Northern Kentucky pitchers have walked just five fewer batters than they have struck out (100-105).

-  Closer Bryson Lonsbury has made six appearances, is 1-0 with two saves and a 2.76 ERA.  He has struck out just four hitters in 16 and one-third innings.

-  Freshman Kaden Echeman will start on the mound for the Norse.  He is 0-3 with a 7.13 ERA.  In 17 and two-thirds innings the right-hander has allowed 20 hits, 16 runs and seven walks while striking out eight.
