RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky extended its winning streak to six games and notched its third consecutive victory over rival Morehead State on Tuesday night as the Colonels topped the Eagles, 6-3, at Earle Combs Stadium. Will Brian set the program's single season saves record, striking out three and allowing just one hit in 1.1 innings to notch his 13th save of the year.

EKU (27-13) took control early, plating four runs in the second inning. A two-out walk to Jalen Jones gave way to Max Williams, who laced a triple to put the Colonels up 1-0. After an intentional walk, back-to-back throwing errors by the Morehead State infield allowed three more runs to score for EKU.

The Colonels extended the lead in the fourth when Logan Thomason doubled home Williams and came around to score himself on a Conner Davis single.

The Eagles (16-23) managed a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but the EKU bullpen stranded three Morehead State runners over the final two innings to seal the win.

Isaac Milburn (2-2) limited the Eagles to one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 5.0 innings of work.

Williams led the EKU offense with a 2-for-5 effort at the plate, smacking a double and a triple, driving in one run and scoring twice.

Eastern Kentucky travels to Northern Kentucky Wednesday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
