Women’s Basketball Hosts Northern Kentucky on Saturday

Crowd the Coliseum, $3 Tickets Online

RICHMOND, Ky. – Coming off a buzzer-beater win last game, EKU women's basketball returns home to face in-state Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. inside Baptist Health Arena.
 
Saturday's game is Crowd the Coliseum Day in Richmond, fans can purchase discounted general admission tickets for $3 online or in-person at the venue. Fans not able to make the game can tune in via ESPN+ or 92.5 WEKY.
 
With a 74-72 win over SIUE on Thursday, EKU moved to 2-0 to open the season for the first time under head coach Greg Todd. The win marked a perfect 3-0 record for the Colonels since departing its former league in 2021.
 
Graduate Ivy Turner led EKU with a season-high 16 points while grabbing a career-high five steals. She is set to make her first appearance against her former school where she scored 1,238 points over four years in Highland Heights.

EKU Notes
- Guard Alice Recanati recorded 15 points against SIUE, all in the second half. Through two games, the Bergamo, Italy product has scored 34 points and is eighth in the NCAA in made field goals.
- Forward Sierra McCullough brought down a team-leading 14 rebounds in the win marking her second straight game in double-figure boards to open the season. She sits seventh in the country in rebounds and rebounds per game entering play Saturday.
- Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor made her EKU debut on Thursday and scored the team's buzzer-beating shot for her first basket in the maroon and white.
- The Colonels are averaging 84.0 points per game and 44.5 rebounds per game through the first two games of the season. Additionally, EKU is averaging 19.0 assists per game which is first amongst Atlantic Sun Conference schools and 51st nationally.
 
All-Time vs. NKU
- Thursday's matchup is the 17th meeting between EKU and NKU, the Norse own the head-to-head record 11-5 including two straight games. 
- EKU is seeking its first win against the in-state foe since 2019 in Richmond. The Colonels have won its last two at home over NKU.
 
Scouting the Norse
- NKU suffered an 85-85 overtime loss to Indiana State to open their season. The Norse had five players in double-figure scoring, including local product Kennedy Igo (Mt. Sterling) who totaled a team-leading 19 points.
- NKU is led by head coach Camryn Volz, who has been with the program for eight seasons with a 95-108 overall record.
- Freshman forward Carter McCray recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in her collegiate debut.
