RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU women's tennis team (2-6) competes against Southern Indiana (2-3) on the road on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. at the Evansville Tennis Center. The Colonels have a quick turnaround, as they will play at home against Tennessee State (0-6) on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
"I'm looking to see us carry the momentum we've been gaining this week at Southern Indiana and Tennessee State. They should be great matches," head coach
Adam Cohen said.
THE COLONELS
- The Colonels enter the matchup with a 2-6 record, coming off a 4-3 victory against Presbyterian last Saturday.
- Sasha Parkhomenko and Elena Tairian are the leading pair in doubles, posting a 2-1 record from the No. 2 position.
- Parkhomenko won both of her singles matches last weekend against UT Chattanooga and Presbyterian.
- Masha Fedenko is 2-2 in singles play in 2023, as she earned singles wins against Dayton and NKU from the No. 1 spot.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN INDIANA
- The Screaming Eagles enter the match with a 2-3 record, most recently losing to ASUN foe Bellarmine 7-0.
- Rachel McCorkle leads Southern Indiana this season in singles, posting a 2-3 record from the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
- McCorkle and Lauren Rowe lead the charge in doubles, boasting a 3-2 record from the No. 1 spot.
SCOUTING TENNESSEE STATE
- Tennessee State enters the match with an 0-6 record as they lost to Middle Tennessee, 5-2, on Feb. 10. The Tigers face off against UT Chattanooga on Friday before facing EKU.
- Naomi Von Bose leads the Tigers in singles while Daniela Koleva and Warona Mdlulwa lead Tennessee State in doubles.
