RICHMOND, Ky. – The Colonel baseball team will host Northern Kentucky on Tuesday at Earle Combs Stadium.

The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and air live on ESPN+.

Tuesday will be EKU's first $2 Day of the season. Tickets, beer, soda and hot dogs are all $2 for every midweek home game this season. In addition, Gumbo will be served from the concession stand on Mardi Gras.

- Â The Colonels lead the all-time series 21-14-1.

-  The two teams split the season series last year. EKU won 6-2 in Richmond on March 22, 2022.  The Norse earned a 16-5 victory in Highland Heights on April 27, 2022.

THE COLONELS
- EKU started the season 3-1 after playing four games at the Jaguar Classic hosted by South Alabama. The Colonels beat Alabama-Birmingham, South Alabama and Northwestern State. The only loss was in game two of a doubleheader against the host Jaguars.

- Â EKU is 94-46 (.671) at Earle Combs Stadium since it opened in 2017, and 45-15 (.750) over the last three seasons.

Chase Alderman will make his first collegiate start. The right-hander from Morehead, Kentucky pitched two innings during the Colonels' 2-0 win over South Alabama, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Northern Kentucky won a weekend series against Eastern Michigan in Hoover, Alabama. The Norse won the first two games by scores of 9-2 and 5-4 before falling in the finale 13-9.

-  Shortstop Noah Fisher is hitting .615 with three runs, a home run and six RBIs through three games. He has a 1.077 slugging percentage. Fisher went 4-for-5 with a run and three RBIs in the season opener.

-  Four Norse relievers haven't allowed an earned run five and two-thirds innings combined. Junior right-hander Kyle Klingenbeck has struck out three and hasn't allowed a base runner in one and two-thirds innings.
