HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The EKU women's tennis team (4-6) looks to extend their three-match winning streak when they compete against Marshall (4-4) on Wednesday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m. at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center.
THE COLONELS
- The Colonels enter the match with a 4-6 mark, coming off a 5-2 victory against Tennessee State on Feb. 18.
- Masha Fedenko leads the team in singles, posting a 4-2 record from the No. 1 spot. She also won two straight doubles matches from the No. 1 court with her partner Daniela Hernandez.
- Hernandez won three consecutive singles matches from the No. 4 spot while Emmeline Polevoi won both of her singles matches against Southern Indiana and Tennessee State.
SCOUTING MARSHALL
- The Thundering Herd enter the matchup with a 4-4 record, most recently losing to Illinois, 4-2.
- Johanna Strom leads Marshall in singles play, boasting a 7-0 record from the top three spots in the lineup.
- Marshall has dominated in doubles this season, as they earned the doubles point in every match in 2023 except their season opener against Kentucky.
- This will be the ninth meeting between the two teams, as the Herd own an 8-0 record in the series against the Colonels.
