RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU women's tennis team (4-7) ends their non-conference schedule with back-to-back road matches, starting off the slate with a trip to Cary, N.C. on Friday, March 3 to take on North Carolina Central (1-5) at 11:00 a.m. at Cary Tennis Park. The Colonels have a quick turnaround, as they will face off against South Carolina State (1-2) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 in Orangeburg, S.C. at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
THE COLONELS
- The Colonels enter the first matchup with a 4-7 mark, most recently falling to Marshall, 7-0.
- Masha Fedenko leads EKU in singles play, posting a 4-3 record from the No. 1 spot.
- Fedenko and Daniela Hernandez are the leading pair in doubles, earning a 3-2 record from the No. 1 court.
- The Colonels will face off against North Carolina Central and South Carolina State for the first time in program history.
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
- The Eagles enter the match with a 1-5 record, most recently losing to ASUN foe Queens, 4-3. North Carolina Central competes against Hampton on Thursday before facing EKU.
- Alejandra Hidalgo Vega leads the Eagles in singles play with three wins while Kennedy Hill leads them in doubles with two wins.
- North Carolina Central earned the doubles point in the recent match against Queens.
SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
- The Bulldogs enter the match with a 1-2 mark, most recently falling to ASUN foe Kennesaw State, 4-1.
- Nalanda Texieria won her singles match against Kennesaw State from the No. 5 spot, 7-5, 6-3.
