LEXINGTON, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University will play No. 16 Kentucky on Tuesday at Kentucky Proud Park.

THE COLONELS
-  EKU (8-11, 1-2 ASUN) capped a three-game weekend series by shutting out Bellarmine, 8-0, on Sunday.
 
-  Santiago Peralta went 4-for-4 in the series finale against Bellarmine, the second four-hit game of his career.
 
-  Logan Thomason begins the week with 197 career hits, three shy of 200.
 
-  The Colonels are sixth in the nation with 20 double plays turned this season.
 
-  Rian Yates, a right-handed junior, is scheduled to start for the Colonels.  Yates is 0-0 this season with an 8.10 ERA over 10 innings pitched.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Kentucky is 18-2 this season and riding a 14-game winning streak.  The Wildcats began SEC play with a three-game sweep of Mississippi State over the weekend, out-scoring the Bulldogs 35-11.
 
-  Second baseman Emilien Pitre leads the team with a .429 batting average, and is one of three Wildcats hitting .400 or better.  He is also tied for the team lead with 23 runs scored.
 
-  First baseman Hunter Gilliam is batting .421 with a team-high five home runs and a team-best 33 RBIs.  Third baseman Jase Felker has played in 14 games and is hitting .400 on the season.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  UK leads the series 45-21-1.  The teams last played on March 29, 2022 in Lexington, with the Colonels picking up a 6-3 victory.
