Women’s Tennis Looks To Continue Their Momentum Against Austin Peay On Sunday

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The EKU women's tennis team (5-13, 1-2 ASUN) looks to continue their momentum in a match against Austin Peay (10-4, 1-1 ASUN) on Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET at the Governors Tennis Courts.
 
THE COLONELS
  • The Colonels enter the match with a 5-13 mark, as they look to continue their momentum after earning their first ASUN Conference win in school history against Bellarmine by a score of 5-2 on Thursday.
  • Masha Fedenko leads EKU in singles play, posting a 7-6 record from the No. 1 spot.
  • The Maroon and White claimed the doubles point against Bellarmine, winning from the top two courts.
  • Sasha Parkhomenko, Elena Tairian, Emmeline Polevoi, and Daniela Hernandez all won their singles matches against the Knights.
  • EKU owns a 16-2 all-time record against Austin Peay, winning the last matchup by a score of 4-3 in 2018.

  • The Governors enter the matchup with a 10-4 record, most recently falling to North Florida, 5-2, on March 19. Austin Peay competes against Lipscomb on Saturday before facing EKU.
  • Austin Peay is led by Sophia Baranov in singles, boasting a 12-1 record from multiple spots in the lineup. Baranov has won 12 consecutive singles matches.
  • Melody Hefti and Jana Leder are the leading pair in doubles, boasting a 10-4 from the No. 1 court.
