EKU Baseball Hosting Cincinnati On Wednesday

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University will host Cincinnati on Wednesday at Earle Combs Stadium.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
 
Wednesday will be $2 Day at the ballpark.  Tickets, beer, soda and hot dogs are all $2 for every midweek home game this season.  It will also be Boy Band Night.  Fans will hear all their favorite boy band classics throughout the game.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Cincinnati leads the all-time series 26-25.
 
-  The teams last met on April 24, 2019 in Cincinnati.  The Bearcats only scored in one inning, but it was enough for a 5-2 victory.  Charlie Ludwick went 1-for-2 with two walks in that game.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU fell to 4-8 this season after losing three games at Western Carolina over the weekend.
 
-  Newcomer Miguel Larreal is batting a team-best .351 on the season.  He has two home runs and has scored nine runs.
 
-  Second baseman Jalen Jones leads the team with 10 RBIs and is hitting .267.
 
-  Left-handed sophomore Quinton Hall made two scoreless relief appearances over the weekend.  He has now pitched three and two-thirds innings this season over four trips to the mound without allowing an earned run and giving up just one hit.
 
-  Cameron Kalandros will make his first start of the season.  In two relief appearances over nine innings, the junior right-hander has allowed just one run on five hits, walked two and struck out 10.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Cincinnati improved to 6-6 on the season after a four-game sweep of North Alabama at home this past weekend.  The Bearcats scored eight or more runs in three of the four games.
 
-  Catcher Alec Jones leads the team with a .333 batting average.
 
-  First baseman Ryan Nicholson is hitting .316 with a team-high three home runs.

-  Tommy Boba is scheduled to take the mound for the Bearcats.  The freshman righty is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two relief appearances this season.  In two innings, he has allowed one hit, walked two and struck out one.
