FLORENCE, Ala. – With three wins in its last five games, EKU will take to the road for a three-game ASUN Conference series at North Alabama.
 
The series opener scheduled for Friday has been postponed.  The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.  The series finale is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.  Game one and game three of the series will air live on ESPN+.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (16-21, 6-9 ASUN) is coming off a 9-2 win at Marshall on Wednesday, splitting a two-game midweek series.  The Colonels won two of three against No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast last weekend.
 
-  Since moving to the lead-off position in the line-up before the series against North Florida, Logan Thomason is hitting .444 with 15 runs, three doubles, four home runs and nine RBIs in the last 12 games.  He is slugging .759 and has a .524 on-base percentage.
 
-  In his last 14 games, Charlie Ludwick is hitting .333 with seven home runs, 18 RBIs, 18 runs and 14 walks.  He has a .796 slugging percentage and a .478 on-base percentage over that time.
 
-  EKU is tied for third in the nation with 40 double plays turned this season.
 
-  Isaac Milburn is scheduled to start the opener on the mound for the Colonels.  The sophomore left-hander is 2-3 with a 7.18 ERA.  Junior right-hander Luke Reed will get the ball for game two.  He is 1-2 with a 5.13 ERA.  The starter for game three has not been determined.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  North Alabama sits at 9-26 overall and 3-12 in the ASUN, but the Lions swept a three-game road trip to Bellarmine this past weekend.  UNA averaged 12 runs per game in the conference sweep.  North Alabama dropped its midweek game at home against Belmont, 6-5, on Tuesday.
 
-  First baseman Kyle Machado leads the team in batting average (.330), home runs (8), RBIs (26) and runs scored (28).  He has 21 walks and 19 strikeouts in 109 at bats.
 
-  Outfielder/designated hitter Andrew Knight is hitting .306 with five home runs, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

-  Jacob Bradshaw will start game one for the Lions.  The junior right-hander is 2-3 with a 6.57 ERA.  Jacob James, a junior lefty, will take the mound for game two.  He is 2-3 with a 6.98 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 49 innings.  The game three starter hasn't been determined.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU is 5-1 all-time against North Alabama.  The two teams met six times in 2022 with the Colonels sweeping three in Richmond and winning two in Florence.
 
-  EKU scored 40 runs in a three-game sweep of the Lions on April 22-24, 2022.  In the final game of the series, Ron Franklin Jr. hit two home runs in the second inning and finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
