RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (0-0) opens its 2024 season against in-state rival Western Kentucky (0-0) on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 12:30 p.m. at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
There will be a poster giveaway for fans attending the match.
THE COLONELS
Masha Fedenko led EKU last season, boasting a team-high eight wins in singles play from the No. 1 spot. Fedenko earned ASUN All-Freshman Team honors in 2023.
Sasha Parkhomenko had seven wins in singles play in 2023, including a win in three sets against Liberty's Esther Lovato, who earned ASUN Second Team All-Conference honors.
Last season, the Colonels lost to the Lady Toppers by a score of 7-0 in Bowling Green on Jan. 20. EKU owns a 16-11 all-time record against WKU.
SCOUTING WESTERN KENTUCKY
Western Kentucky earned a 15-11 mark in 2023, ending its season against Middle Tennessee at the Conference USA Tournament. Rachel Hermanova led the Lady Toppers last season, posting an 18-7 singles mark and 13-6 doubles record.
