EKU (4-3) is coming off two wins in a road swing at Radford and Hampton and have won four of their last five games entering play on Wednesday.
The Colonels are 4-1 against non-power-five opponents and are averaging 78.7 points per game in their four wins. All four of EKU's wins have been dealt by double digits, highlighted by a 47-point win margin over Radford, 28-point win margin over Southeast Missouri State, and 21-point win margin over Southern Illinois – who is ranked No. 30 in the women's mid-major poll.
Senior guard
Kaitlyn Costner has scored double figures in three of her last four games, including a career-high 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting in the team's win over Radford. The Osceola, Indiana native leads EKU with 13.0 points per game and is top 175 in the country in field goals and points scored.
Senior forward
Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor is on one of the best stretches of her career in her last four games, recording a career-high 18 points in two separate games against SEMO and Hampton. The Omaha native is second in the Atlantic Sun Conference in rebounding and is top 150 in the NCAA in rebounds, blocks, and free throws.
Another highlight in EKU's recent success is senior guard
Alice Recanati, who tallied a career-best 12 rebounds in the win over Hampton and became EKU's program leader in career starts in the win at Radford. Recanati is top 20 in school history in over 10 categories and holds program records in assists, minutes played, and games started. She leads the program with 4.0 assists per game this season and is 60th in the nation in assists.
Maryville College is 0-2 this season with losses to Centre College and Berry College in the Lee's Famous Recipe/Hampton Inn Classic in Danville last weekend. Junior guard Ella Haney leads the Scots with 12.5 points per game this season and had 17 points in the loss to Centre.
EKU has won 25 consecutive games against non-NCAA DI opponents since 2009 and have scored 94 or more points in their last five games against non-division opponents since 2022. Since 2022, EKU has defeated Campbellsville-Harrodsburg (100-25), Simmons College (94-38), Hanover College (94-43), Alice Lloyd College (110-49), and Union College (103-48).
