EKU Women’s Tennis Travels To Lexington To Face Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (6-7, 0-0 ASUN) travels to Lexington to face off against Kentucky (5-3, 0-0 SEC) on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
 
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 6-7 record, falling to Dayton, 4-3, and Xavier by a score of 5-0 on Feb. 16.
 
The Maroon and White led by Emmeline Polevoi in singles play, who boasts an 8-4 record from several spots in the lineup. Masha Fedenko has seven wins in singles from the No. 1 court and she earned the ASUN Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 17. Marilou Cote and Izem Elif Olcer have six wins each in singles play.
 
Cote and Olcer are the leading pair in doubles for the Colonels, posting a 5-1 mark from the bottom two spots in the lineup.
 
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
Kentucky enters the contest with a 5-3 mark, winning against Wichita State by a score of 5-2 on Feb. 9. The Wildcats are led by Zoe Hammond in singles, posting a 6-1 record from the No. 3 and 4 courts. Makayla Mills and Elizabeth Stevens are the leading pair in doubles, as they are ranked No. 41 in the latest ITA doubles rankings. Kentucky won 4-0 in two matches against EKU in 2023. The Wildcats own a 27-1 all-time record against the Colonels.
